Cairns and Auckland

Im back home from my first long scheme duty which was an 8 days out.  It was an exciting and unexpectedly fun flight of MNL-CNS-AKL-CNS-MNL. An overnight in Cairns, 3 nights in Auckland and another day back in Cairns. Initially, I was scared to take this flight since this is always taken by seniors. Luckily, I was surrounded with kind and down-to-earth flight crew. Couldn't be more thankful for this experience.

Explored the city of Auckland on our first day. It was tiring but worth it since I might not able to get this flight again anytime soon. We went to check the Auckland Sky Tower and see the whole city from its sky deck. It costs $29 for the entrance.

It also has a cafe where you can dine for coffee or have an ice cream with an overview of the city.

And more city roaming.

A Strawberry farm is a walking distance from our hotel so we decided to go altogether on our last day and try their amazing desserts made from fresh strawberries. They have strawberry ice cream, strawberry shakes and a sundae split. Since I was very hungry at that time, I ordered their pancakes for $9.

Back at the hotel, I made sure I had myself a selfie. LOL

Unfortunately, this was the only group photo I had.

ICCT 16-17 Training

Like what I said, training for cabin crew is not easy. You have to go through a series of tests for months. You need to pass all the exams, memorize the equipments and its operations in every aircraft. You need to learn first aid, undergo ditching activity by not killing yourself from drowning, perform emergency procedures, and a lot more.

Since I was the one tasked to document all these experiences, here is the video I made to summarize what we went through for the past 3 months.

Mabuhay!

Three months of rigorous training ended last January 13, 2017. Finally, I have graduated and I'm officially a flight steward of our flag carrier airlines. I have waited for a long time for this to happen, and I can't be any happier. Flying with you!

Bangkok May 2016

Apparently, impulse got me good for making me celebrate my birthday in Bangkok, Thailand. I decided to join my mom and aunt on their trip 4 hours before their departure time, that left me with nothing to prepare with. Good thing I always have a pair of slippers in my trolley, and a pair of sneakers in the trunk of my car. Most importantly, my XT10 was also in my car during that time so I was able to capture this spontaneous birthday escapade.

We checked in at Baiyoke Sky Hotel. It's the tallest building in Thailand that has 85 storeys and a 360° revolving roof deck. Room prices are affordable for its size. Hence, we took the suite. If you are to compare it to the hotel prices in Makati or Fort, it would have cost P20,000/night but we only paid less than P4000/night.

They have buffet dinner on the 81st and 82nd floor that has incredible choices of different cuisines. Plus, a great view of Bangkok while you eat. Everything tasted really good and delicious. I have never appreciated good food this much.

Of course, a birthday celebration will not be complete without a selfie with your cake. Plus, balloons!

An Upgrade Down Under

Hunter Valley Garden

Lucky me, I was upgraded to a 2-nights Sydney instead of my schedule domestic flights. It wasn't my first time in Sydney but my first time to go to Hunter Valley Garden and experienced some wine tasting in the wineries like Savannah and Capercaille.

It was a very unforgettable experience. I would say the best layover I had by far. I was upgraded to a flight of seniors yet the treatment was nothing like seniority. We were like family/barkada at the same time.

I would really miss this set of crew.

The Life of Aids

I started this site during my college years way back in 2010. I made inconsistent posts up until 2013. 3 years of randomness, gone to waste since I decided to delete all of them and start a new one all over.

Its 2016, 2 years have passed. I considered to revamp this site and do minor tweaks here and there to make it up-to-date once again. Im gonna start sharing stories of my life through this. It would be different now that I'm currently working and trying to live an independent life as much as possible.

Honestly, I just got myself a new camera and that is mainly why I want to blog again. Its an X-T10 mirrorless camera from Fujifilm. Got the 18-55mm lens and I can't wait to use this on my trips. Hoping for consistency this time.
